Dan Remo - President

Dan, who hails from the Philippines, graduated from Ateneo de Manila University (One Big Fight!) with a degree in History. Prior to business school, Dan was a startup founder working throughout Southeast Asia. Apart from leading the MBA Student Association (MBASA), this year Dan will be organizing the ROMBA business conference in Los Angeles. In his free time, Dan enjoys traveling and exploring new places to eat. For his first-year Summer Internship, Dan will be going to UPS in Atlanta as an MBA Marketing Intern.

Montana Crowder - VP of Communications & Technology

Montana grew up in Cary, North Carolina and graduated from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy in 2019. Prior to Kenan-Flagler he worked at a sports technology startup in Raleigh-Durham as a customer success specialist. At KFBS, he’s involved with Business Technology Club and Soccer Club. For his first year internship, Montana will be heading to Miami to work for Royal Caribbean Group in a Product Owner role. In his free time he enjoys playing soccer, reading, and binge watching episodes of No Reservations.

Phil Bernstein - VP of Outreach

Originally from Palos Verdes, California, Phil is a first-year MBA student concentrating in consulting and marketing. Often seen giving hello’s and fist bumps in the halls of McColl, Phil is involved in many ways on campus including as a STAR Project Leader where he leads a team of talented MBA’s and Undergrads driving initiatives for a leading beverage brand and serving as the Executive Vice President of the Marketing Club and Vice President of Outreach for the Sports and Entertainment Club.  This summer, Phil will intern with Bank of America's Strategy and Management group in Charlotte.

Ashley Sperry - Vice President

Ashley was raised in Springfield, Ohio, and earned her undergraduate degree in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences, with a minor in Linguistics, from Ohio University. Furthering her education, she obtained a master's degree in Defense and Strategic Studies, specializing in Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, from Missouri State University. Over the past decade, Ashley has dedicated herself to serving as a Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Officer in the United States Army and is set to rejoin the Army as an Acquisitions Officer, with a focus on the procurement of new military equipment. At Kenan-Flagler, Ashley serves as a Curriculum Advisory Board (CAB) representative, is a member of the Veterans Club, and is working towards a double concentration in operations and managing people and organizations. In her leisure time, Ashley cherishes moments with her two daughters, tending to her homestead of goats, chickens, dogs, and turtles, and enjoys running.

Ryan Durr - VP of Finance

Ryan grew up in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from California State University Northridge with a degree in Finance . Prior to business school, he worked at a pension fund as an investment analyst. At Kenan-Flagler, he is concentrating in Capital Markets & Investments and is the Alpha Challenge Chair in the Investment Management Club. Outside of school he enjoys exercising, spending time with his dog, and drinking craft beer.

Gloriana Ordóñez Carboni - VP of International Student Experience

Originally from San José, Costa Rica, Gloriana founded a sports physical therapy practice, making waves with her community-focused initiatives. Now in the US pursuing an MBA with a spotlight on consulting and healthcare, she's driven to blend her multicultural insights with her passion for community improvement. When not immersed in Kenan-Flagler projects, Gloriana indulges in cooking and baking, exploring new cities, learning languages, and spending quality time with her dog, Luna. She's also actively involved in projects that foster cultural exchange and interdisciplinary learning within the MBA community. 

Kasha Ely - VP of Leadership & Development

Kasha Ely grew up in Chapel Hill and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor’s in Photojournalism and a Master’s in Technology & Communications. Before KFBS, she spent 10 years in creative production and marketing in the public sector. At KFBS, she serves on the boards of the Marketing and Pride clubs and is pursuing a concentration in sustainable enterprise. This summer, she will join Kenvue as a Marketing Summer Associate. In her free time, she enjoys acting, reading, and spending time with her husband, cats, and chickens.  

 

Aruni Madara - VP of Community Service

Aruni grew up in Sri Lanka and completed her undergraduate studies in Business Management from Mount Carmel College in India. Prior to joining UNC, she worked in Nonprofit, Marketing and Research areas in Sri Lanka. At KFBS, Aruni is working toward a concentration in Sustainable Enterprise for a career within the Sustainability or Nonprofit sector. Apart from her academics at UNC, she works as a volunteer with Community Empowerment Fund, a local nonprofit in Chapel Hill, a liaison with the Net Impact Club and One for The World. In her free time, she enjoys talking to her family and hanging around with her friends.     

 

Dalia Namak - VP of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

A native North Carolinian, Dalia graduated from Wake Forest University with a degree in Anthropology, Politics, and International Affairs. In her professional career, Dalia’s experience spans higher education and consulting. She spent the last three years as a federal healthcare consultant at Deloitte Consulting working on projects focused on health equity, change management strategy, organizational transformation, and sustainable process improvement. Dalia is passionate about creating belonging within groups and uplifting those that are not heard as often to promote equity and acknowledgement. At Kenan-Flagler, Dalia is actively involved in Student Teams Achieving Results (STAR), the Healthcare Club, Carolina Women in Business Club, and is Co-President of the Muslims @ Kenan-Flagler student group. Outside of her professional life, Dalia likes to engage her creative side through throwing ceramics, painting, knitting and anything crafty!

Ben Connelly - VP of Student Activities

Ben graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and a focus in Supply Chain and Transportation. Prior to business school, he worked as a transportation consultant living in Chicago, Denver, and Boston, conducting acquisition diligence, and researching markets across a wide variety of industries. Ben enjoys playing music, playing chess, and organizing social events for students across Kenan-Flagler. He’s currently concentrating in Consulting and Operations Management, and will be interning in Walmart’s merchandising LDP over the summer in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Brenna Thanner- VP of Social Affairs

Brenna Thanner grew up in Jacksonville, FL before attending the College of William & Mary in Virgina (go tribe!) with a degree in American Studies & Economics. She spent the last 4 years in Washington, D.C. working in television and media relations for Fox News and Morning Consult. At Kenan-Flagler, she is dual concentrating in Marketing & Consulting and is a member of both respective clubs, along with Carolina Women in Business and the STAR project. In her free time, she enjoys running, cooking, and chilling with her cat John. She hopes to go into product management or marketing as a career.
